J-STAR Research, a contract chemistry organization, acquired adjacent space formerly occupied by Schweizerhall, Inc. at 3001 Hadley Road, South Plainfield, New Jersey.

Reconstruction of units 1 and 2 is in progress. The additional 10,000 square feet of space will nearly triple the size of J-STAR's facility, resulting in 16,000 square feet of continuous space.
Two fully equipped, state of the art laboratories will be built with the first to be completed by late spring. Each lab will have 5 bench top fume hoods and a walk in hood as well as HPLC's and a GC for analytical analysis of samples. In addition, the company gains a solvent storage shed and two large walk in freezers.
New management offices, a conference room, library and a cafeteria will also be constructed.

Concurrent with the expansion, J-STAR has begun searching for qualified organic synthesis chemists to staff the new laboratories.
